To connect with the source. What source? The source of spiritual
energy, the source of life energy.
You don't even have to name this source. It is that it is and
it is omnipresent.
The energy from this source is with you. Were it not, you would
not exist - nor would your mind or your body.
This is the energy that renews the body. It is the energy that
heals the body and the emotions. It is the energy that keeps bodies
youthful and healthy. It is the energy that keeps the brain functioning
and the hormones balanced. It is the energy your spirit and mind
use to manipulate your reality. It is the energy your spirit and
mind use to manifest your desires. All of your desires: financial,
spiritual, emotional, physical. This energy is your power.
YOU regulate how much and how little you receive of this energy
and power. How? With your thoughts. With your words. With your emotions.
With your actions.
If you receive insufficient amounts of this energy, you will not
heal, you will not remain healthy, you will not renew your body,
you will not be balanced, you will not feel or be powerful, you
will not manifest your desires.
The purpose of meditation is to empty yourself of all thoughts,
words, emotions and actions so nothing blocks or diminishes the
full amount of energy you need, require, and desire.
The mind is used to being busy, the emotions are used to calling for attention,
the body is used to movement. However, these are all behaviors that can be quieted.
Below are steps to take for quieting your mind and emotions and
settling your body into the "silence" within you where
you will be connected with the source and open to the energy and
power you need from it.
Meditate daily. Do not blame or judge yourself for days you do
not meditate. You will come to notice the difference in yourself
and your life between when you are meditating and when you are not.
This will be the greatest motivation possible for daily meditation.
Do not expect or want paranormal, or psychic, or spiritual things
to happen during the meditation. Your goal is to move into the "silence"
where nothing blocks or interferes with the flow of energy from
the source to you.
Should you have paranormal, psychic, or spiritual experiences,
rejoice, ask for understanding from your Higher Self. (See Seven
Steps For Spiritual Guidance.) Then meditate in silence as soon
as possible. Often such experiences "drain" energy, you
will need to replace this energy with meditation.
We have other meditations listed in Treasure Chest. There are
many other types of meditations. Each has its own purpose. These
steps are for the important mission of connecting daily with the
power source of universal energy.
HOW TO MEDITATE
- Sit down or lie down. In general, it is better to sit, for lying
down is a mental cue to sleep. In general, it is best to keep
your spine straight to allow the "kundalini" (life force,
spiritual energy) to flow evenly throughout your energy field
and physical body.
- Make your intention clear. You are inwardly connecting with The Source
as you inwardly lift your consciousness to the level of your
Spiritual Self/Higher Self (highest level of your spirit). Even though
you will be unconscious when this inner connection happens, you are
receiving spiritual knowledge and counsel that will intuitively come
to you as you need it to guide you in your journey through life.
- Give yourself the mental or verbal cue of how long the meditation
is to be. This may vary day to day.
- Quiet your mind and settle your body. How? First, focus on breathing peacefully.
When your breathing is calm, mentally focus on a spiritually uplifting image,
word or simple phrase. When your mind wanders to other thoughts, gently return
to your spiritually uplifting image, word, or phrase. What not focus on a sound?
Physical sounds – even spiritually uplifting ones – can keep the vibrations of your
consciousness grounded in the physical. Your goal is to lift your consciousness
to a higher spiritual plane.
- When you are successfully focusing on your chosen image, word, or phrase
(which does not have to remain the same each time you mediate), begin to focus on
silence – no image, no word or phrase, just silence. If other thoughts intrude,
return to the spiritually uplifting image, word, phrase you are using and then
return to the silence again. Eventually you will be able to do this. It may be for
only a short period at first, then it will become extended periods of time.
Why silence? To train your mind to become silent at will so you can consciously receive
higher spiritual guidance, psychic messages, and intuitive knowing when you need it or ask
for it. Meditation in which you lift your consciousness to the higher spiritual plane of
your Spiritual Self/Higher Self attunes you to the “mental voice” (thoughts) of your
Spiritual Self/Higher Self through which these things come to you.
When you have learned to silence your mind during meditation, you will enter into an
unconscious state. Why? Because you are being lifted into a higher consciousness, beyond
your conscious awareness. Because you are unconscious you may think you have fallen asleep.
Unless you needed sleep, you are in a true state of spiritual meditation and you will come
out of this state in the time you requested before you began.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU CANNOT QUIET YOUR MIND, EMOTIONS, OR BODY
Birds - like busy thoughts, emotions, and bodies - will flock
around to be fed days, sometimes weeks, after you have stopped feeding
them. First all will come. Then fewer, and fewer, and fewer until
even the last bird will cease to come. You can out-wait birds. You
can out-wait your busy self too.
If this becomes increasingly difficult instead of easier, you are getting
a clear signal that there are inner parts of you that are crying out for help.
NMR and Hypnotherapy are often the fastest way of finding out what is needed
and resolving this need.
