HOW TO BE HYPNOTIZED FOR FINDING
YOUR OWN ANSWERS
- Find a hypnotist or hypnotherapist with whom you feel very comfortable.
(Read How To Find Your Hypnotist/Hypnotherapist at the end of
Chapter Five in Book I, "Odyssey of The Soul, Apocatastasis".)
Ask this person to work with you and teach you how to relax yourself
into hypnosis. There are many ways to hypnotize and be hypnotized.
The most "civil" and effective for finding your answers
is a physical relaxation in which you "let go" of your
busy conscious thoughts.
- Ask your hypnotist to make a tape guiding you into self-hypnosis
for practicing with at home. (If you prefer, request such a tape
from us. Cost is $10.00 + $3.00 S/H.)
- Ask your hypnotist/hypnotherapist to suggest (on the tape) to
your subconscious mind that when your conscious mind has "let
go and "turned over control to your subconscious mind",
(hypnosis) a finger or thumb on either hand will move to indicate
"yes". The hypnotist/hypnotherapist will then suggest
another finger or thumb on either hand move for a "no"
signal. (Wait a moment to see if this happens automatically. If
it does not, then pick a finger or thumb yourself. If when you
play this tape at home a different finger or thumb than the one(s)
you chose move automatically, this is a subconscious response
and these are the ones you want.) You may find your subconscious
"talking to you" through these finger responses, even
when you aren’t in hypnosis.
- Every time you play a hypnosis tape (never play such a tape
when you are driving or doing anything that requires conscious
focus), and every time you or someone else hypnotizes you, tell
yourself that your "yes" signal will move when you are
in a hypnotic state. Sometimes this will happen quickly - even
before you have realized you are in hypnosis. The time it takes
to "let go" and be in a hypnotic state depends upon
your frame of mind at the moment. Eventually, this signal will
become automatic and will be helpful to you in "knowing"
you are in hypnosis. You can always go deeper, and usually will
as the session progresses. Your subconscious mind is open to directives
and/or suggestions as soon as you let go of your conscious control
over it.
NOTE: You let go of conscious control of your subconscious
every time you sleep. Rest assured, even when someone gives your
subconscious mind suggestions while you sleep - or while you are
in hypnosis - your subconscious knows from the programming you have
given it all of your life and from your inner thoughts, what is
and what is not acceptable to you. It will block any suggestion
it believes is not acceptable to you. Part of the work of a hypnotherapist
is to help you find the thought or belief blocking the subconscious
from accepting the suggestions/directives you want it to accept.
- Other "clues" that you are in hypnosis are:
- Your ‘yes’ and ‘no’ finger responses have a less deliberate
movement, - like they are moving without you making them move.
Often the movement is more like a twitch.
- You feel very lethargic and passive. You feel like you could
open your eyes any moment and end the hypnosis any time you wanted
to, but you don’t feel like you want to.
- Your body feels very heavy, at least initially. Often this stage
is followed by a very light feeling. Some people "skip" the heavy
feeling and go right into the light feeling. There is also the
sense, at some stages, of a shifting body awareness. You feel
as though your body is sitting or lying differently than when
you began, yet you haven't moved it. You feel as though the body
is sinking into and becoming one with the surface it is resting
on. You feel as though the body is disappearing, or your awareness
of the body is slipping away.
- You can still hear the hypnotist, but his or her voice fades
in and out, or you have stopped paying attention to the words
and/or you are much more aware of where you are mentally. Usually,
some part of you is still very aware of where you are physically,
but another part is also sensing, feeling, becoming aware more
and more of where you are mentally. It is okay to "let go"
of the "here and now" and "be there" completely,
if you want. (You don’t have to, you will still be in hypnosis.)
The professional hypnotist will know how to keep or get back the
attention of the part of your mind he/she needs.
- The most important part of this whole process is for you to
feel very, very, very comfortable with the hypnotist. If you aren't,
choose a new one. There are many factors in feeling comfortable,
and many have nothing to do with the skill of the hypnotist.
- When you are comfortable with the feeling of being in hypnosis
and you are comfortable with a particular hypnotist, prepare a
list of questions for your Higher Self. (Read Chapter One of Book
I, "Odyssey of the Soul, Apocatastasis", if you aren't
clear on what your Higher Self is.)
- Ask hypnotist to tell the subconscious, after you are in hypnosis,
to open to the Higher Self and to ask that The Higher Self align
with your body and mind (never the other way around). The hypnotist
should ask that the "yes" signal move to indicate when
your Higher Self is "present" and ready to "speak".
- As your hypnotist/hypnotherapist asks each question of your
Higher Self, answer what comes into your mind. This answer may
be direct - meaning your Higher Self is speaking through you -
or it may be indirect - meaning the answers are coming from your
Higher Self into your mind and you are speaking them. It doesn't
matter which is happening. You will get your Higher Self Guidance.
(Your Higher Self is also an excellent interpreter of your dreams.
Have some dream interpretation sessions with your hypnotist/hypnotherapist.)
- Often, when a person hears from his or her Higher Self in hypnosis,
it feels so familiar a "presence" or "thought" or "voice" that
one thinks one is "making this up". You aren't. Not if you have
carefully "set the stage" with being in hypnosis and bringing
in The Higher Self.
- RECORD all this to listen to later. You may THINK you heard
everything in the hypnosis. You may be surprised. After all, moving
in and out of conscious awareness is seamless. You don’t know
you’ve been unconscious unless there are outside indicators of
this.
- There is no better guidance for you than from your Higher Self.
Your Higher Self has access to ALL your spirit guides (which come
and go), to ALL your "past" and "future" lives, to ALL the possibilities
open to you, to ALL levels of your belief systems, and to Higher
Spirit, including the angelic realms. Your Higher Self knows you
better than anyone, even you, and knows what you are "ready" to
know and not "ready" to know.
- Meditate daily to keep your "frequency" to your Higher
Self open and clear, so as better to hear its daily guidance.
(See Meditation in Treasure Chest on website.) Join the daily
Global Wave of Light. Not only will you help earth, which needs
it, and thus all humanity, you can "tithe" this Light
back to yourself and your loved ones. Use this Light to focus
on your goals. Image or think of your goals CLEARLY, putting yourself
in the thought/picture of enjoying your goal. This instructs your
subconscious mind these goals are a priority. Feel the excitement
and joy of having these goals. (They can be anything from increased
income to size/shape/youth of body.) Emotions add physical energy.
Then take the physical steps to make your goals happen, "acting
as if" you KNOW they are coming and making the appropriate
preparations for them in your life. Action adds physical energy.
Your subconscious needs physical, as well as spiritual and mental
energy to manifest your goals.
NOTE: A goal will not manifest if you have subconscious
thoughts or programming strong enough to block this goal. Your hypnotherapist
can help determine if you have such blocks and how to clear them.
